The Sanctuary is seeking submissions of two and three dimensional art for a curated exhibition. BIG & little will be a showcase of art in the extremes of scale. The Sanctuary seeks small art pieces no greater than 6 inches in any direction, and large art pieces no smaller than 36 inches in any direction. Artists may submit up to three pieces and are encouraged but not required to explore both extremes.
To submit your work, email thesanctuary.arcata@gmail.com with the subject heading “BIG / little,” and attach an image of the piece in question. Submissions must be sent by March 22nd. Accepted works must be dropped off Friday March 27th or Saturday morning, and installation will be on March 28th and 29th. All pieces must be ready to hang or otherwise display. If your piece requires special handling, an appointment can be made to assist in the installation. Volunteers experienced in gallery hanging are encouraged to help. This exhibition will open at April’s Arts! Arcata, but will available for viewing during other community events such as classes, concerts and potlucks. This gives ample opportunity for artists who may want to share their work for longer than the usual month.
