Black Humboldt 8th Birthday
Black Humboldt Invites the Community to Celebrate Its Birthday with a Day of Joy, Connection, and Community at Redwood Park Arcata, CA.
Black Humboldt is excited to invite the community to join in celebrating Black Humboldt’s 8th Birthday Celebration on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Redwood Park.
This gathering will honor another year of Black Humboldt’s work uplifting Black and Brown communities across Humboldt County through arts, culture, education, leadership, and collective care.
Founded in 2018, Black Humboldt has grown into a community-rooted cooperative organization known for creating spaces of belonging, cultural celebration, connection, and empowerment. Through public events, workshops, mutual support, youth leadership, cultural programming, and large-scale gatherings such as the annual Juneteenth Cultural Festival, Black Humboldt continues to build community-centered pathways for connection and liberation on California’s rural Northern Coast.
This is also a moment to celebrate the people, partnerships, and possibilities that continue to shape Black Humboldt’s work. It is a time for us to gather with the people who have built with us, dreamed with us, and believed in the power of Black-centered community space in Humboldt County.
Bring a dish to share and what you need to comfortably hang out! We will have some general refreshments, games, music, bathroom access and shade tents.
Community members from across Humboldt County are invited to attend and celebrate with Black Humboldt in the redwoods. Can’t make it but want to make a meaningful contribution email Frontdesk@Blackhumboldt.com
