Invite your friends, grab your pets and come to this year’s Blessing of the Animals at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, 1675 Chester Avenue, Arcata in Sunny Brae on Sunday, October 9 at 4 p.m. This one hour service begins with a light meal served family style after which pets will be blessed at 4:30 p.m. The Blessing of the animals is a tradition that occurs in recognition of the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals. St. Alban’s welcomes those who are LBGTQ.
