The WORLD PREMIERE of BOLDtFEST, Access Humboldt’s new annual short film incubator and festival, will feature seven short films created by Humboldt County residents.

Access Humboldt Board Chair Molly Cate shared this statement. “ Local stories matter. When you attend this event, you uplift
community voices and fund the next round of the film incubator. Cast your vote, meet local creators, and support local cinema.” The festival will take place on October 16, 2026, at the Eureka Theater starting at 6 PM, followed by an after-party at the Historic Eagle House and Phatsy Kline’s Parlor Lounge.

Access Humboldt’s Executive Director, Christina Marie Jeffers, said, “We are honored to share that special guest Pebbles Trippet—medical rights advocate and subject of the short film Migraine—is expected to attend this year’s festival.” Migraine is one of seven original short films selected to compete at Access Humboldt’s BOLDtFEST 2026. It tells the story of the fight that won the legal right to carry medical cannabis. The entire community is invited to watch all seven films on the big screen, cast a vote for their favorite, and celebrate our local filmmakers:

- Migraine — The story and the fight that won the legal right to carry medical cannabis.

- You Never Know — On the way to paradise, a couple finds they no longer laugh together.

-Capturing Bigfoot: The Patterson’s Redemption — The ultimate search for truth.

-Typically Trafficked — An indigenous woman’s tale of surviving human trafficking.

-Not A Cult Film — …because they are definitely not in a cult.

-The Big Date — A man prepares for the impossible: a perfect date.

-Welcome To Wendigo Street — An intentionally uncomfortable romp through American culture.

The after-party to benefit Access Humboldt will feature live bands Camo Cowboys and Cowtown
Sound. Tickets are $10, and doors open at 9 PM. “Stay and play” rooms can be booked by
