Born Yesterday (1950)
Billie Dawn is the floozie fiancée of a junk-dealer millionaire who is trying to make a good impression among the politicians he’s hoping to influence. He hires a D.C. journalist to “culturefy” the seemingly dim-witted blonde, but Billie’s not nearly as dumb as she seems, and soon graduates from pawn to sassy queen on her husband’s political chessboard.
Starring Judy Holliday, Broderick Crawford and William Holden. Directed by George Cukor. Based on the play by Garson Kanin.
