Death Like The Old Days features no less than three members of the Richards’ Goat family, with Thos behind the drums, Leo on bass (both from MRDR MTN,) and Oryan on guitar (Datura Blues, Die Geister Beschwören, BPBS Arts & Media) From the burial grounds of the short lived (yet ferocious,) MRDR MTN, and engine room of the 20-years running psychedelic locomotive, Datura Blues, comes a new post punk outfit from the mean streets of West Arcata… Death Like The Old Days. Following in the footsteps of Pacific-Northwest sonic luminaries (The Wipers, Unwound, Modest Mouse, Couch of Eureka, Nirvana,) Death Like The Old Days is a throwback to the Soggy Years, when Seattle was drowning in blue collar flannel, and Portland was still ugly, brimstone and grime (Humboldt was stuck in the ’70’s well into the nineties, and some of that classic California, sunshine hippy shit also makes it’s way into the mix, despite the band’s best efforts.)
