The Guitar Ensemble will perform music by French Thierry Tisserand, Venezuelan Alfonso Montes, Australian Phillip Houghton, Brazilian Celso Machado, and German Daniel Rosenfeld.

Two of the stand out compositions include Gothica: Book of Spooks and Spectres by Phillip Houghton and Minecraft Suite by Daniel Rosenfeld, C418.

Phillip Houghton speaks of his work Gothica “Ever since I was a kid, I’ve loved the supernatural—a world we can’t seem to get our minds around, as it is around us!.. A primeval world of raw instinct, chaos, mystery, the unknown. To get a fix on it, we turn it into myth and think of it as the “dark side” of Nature. But I believe it is simply Nature itself and part of ourselves: fantastical, beautiful, dangerous. Something beyond “clock-time” and reason, that the mechanistic world would have driven out of us—but of those who hear the silent roar. These pieces come from that place.”

Minecraft Suite includes the compositions Pigstep, Wet Hands, Dry Hands and Calm 3, all guitar compositions of music by Minecraft composer Daniel Rosenfeld also known as C418.

Please, come participate in this amazing supernaturally sonic performance!
