Cal Poly Humboldt Jazz Combos

Fulkerson Recital Hall

The Cal Poly Humboldt Department of Dance, Music, and Theatre Presents the Spring 2025 “Jazz Combos”. The combos will perform April 26th at 7:30 pm at the Fulkerson Recital Hall. Tickets are $13 General, $5 for Children, and free for Humboldt Students with ID. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online at tickets.humboldt.edu/dance-music-and-theatre.

Three combos will perform:

“Hungry for Lunch” features John Gerving, piano, Tyler Endsley, bass, and Gavin Kingsley, drums. They will perform Popsy by Bobby Timmons, Blue Blocks by Jason Moran, Life Goes On: And On by Carla Bley—featuring Ricardo Paredes on saxophone—and On Green Dolphin Street by Kaper/Washington

“Parallel Fifths” joins together Mathias Severn, soprano/tenor saxophone, Nikolaus Roberds, alto saxophone, True Laboissonniere, alto/tenor saxophone, Ricardo Paredes, baritone saxophone, and Nick Howell, drums. They are performing Yugo A Go Go by Markovic, arr. Jessica Lurie, Monk’s Mood by Thelonious Monk, and La Luce Azzura by Jessica Lurie.

The final combo, “Hurling Squirrels” consists of Silas Bohen, piano, Tyler Endsley, bass, and Alex Granieri, drums. They are playing Gloria’s Step by Scott LaFaro, Cherish the Day by Sade, Stella by Starlight by Victor Young, and an original entitled Fog and Circumstance.
