Cal Poly Humboldt Jazz Combos

Fulkerson Recital Hall

The Department of Dance, Music, and Theatre at Cal Poly Humboldt presents “Jazz Combos.” This evening of Jazz will feature three student combos: Bibby Renaissance, None Of These People Are Named Khris, and Big Sandwich. The concert is Friday, April 14th at 8pm at the Fulkerson Recital Hall, Cal Poly Humboldt. Tickets are $10 General, $5 Child/Senior, and FREE for Cal Poly Humboldt students with ID. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online at centerarts.humboldt.edu

Bibby Renaissance features Andrew Henderson (flugelhorn), Ricardo Paredes (tenor sax), Nick De Anda (guitar), Keith Staats (bass), and Danny Oxyuk (drums). They will playing “Twelve’s It” by Ellis Marsalis, “Lost Kingdoms” by Nubya Garcia, “Kind Folk” by Kenny Wheeler, and “Butterfly” by Herbie Hancock.

None Of These People Are Named Khris consists of Luke Faulder (alto sax), Chris Antolin-Wilczek (guitar), Kris Donald (bass), and Jordan Bolla (drums). They will perform “Blue Nile” by Alice Coltrane, “Beastly” by Vulfpeck, “Blue Monk” by Thelonious Monk, and “The Natives Are Restless Tonight” by Horace Silver.

Big Sandwich is a combo featuring Mathias Severn (tenor sax), Charlie Teague (guitar), Laith Hart (bass), and Jordan Bolla (drums). Their performance includes “Mood Indigo” by Duke Ellington, “Dance of the Infidels” by Bud Powell, “Respected Destroyer” by Brandee Younger, “Heavy Mustard (for a big sandwich)” by Big Sandwich.
