Cal Poly Humboldt Outdoor Adventures - Sea Kayaking 201
Sea Kayaking 201 is a course designed to build on the fundamental basics of sea kayaking in a supportive, safety-focused environment. Led by Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center’s American Canoe Association Certified Instructors, this course provides you with more advanced skills and needed to get you sea kayaking independently beyond Humboldt Bay. Successful completion of this course will enable you to rent our Sea Kayaks for your personal use.
Participants will learn paddle strokes, towing, assisted rescue techniques, and techniques to make your paddling more efficient. Instruction is on and in the water so come prepared to get wet. All necessary equipment will be provided. Please bring your own personal equipment such as water, snacks, a change of clothes, a towel, and anything else you need to stay comfortable on the water.
Sea Kayaking 201 is ideal for with prior sea kayaking experience, as well as those looking to continue building a strong foundation for kayaking recreationally or advancing to higher-level instruction.
