What: California Halibut - Slot Size Derby
When: Saturday, July 25, 2026
Where: All waters within Humboldt Bay in Eureka, California
Boat Launches: You can launch anywhere in Humboldt Bay
Anglers: Can fish from the shore, beaches, piers, kayaks, boats in Humboldt Bay
Check-ins, Fish Measuring and Awards Ceremony starts at 2:30pm at: Derby participants need to check in at Woodley Island, 601 Startare Drive, Eureka, CA 95501 at the East-I Lot Grass Area first before getting your fish measured.
Times: Fishing 5:30am to 2:30pm. Fish measuring is from 2:30-3:30pm. Must be in line with your fish by 3:30pm in order to qualify. Event ends at 5:30pm
Registration: Must be signed up with completed payment for the Derby by July 24 at midnight.

Donations are used to provide our youth anglers with gift cards to a local sporting goods store as well as free rod and reel combos for all our youth participants. We will contact you about your generous donation.
