“Chronovisor” {2026 film}

The Miniplex at Richards’ Goat Tavern

“A masterpiece…head and shoulders above any other narrative feature released so far this year.” —Salon

“CRITIC’S PICK. Enchanting.” —New York Times. “One of the year’s most bewitchingly weird (and best) movies.” —IndieWire. "Rarely has a film so resourcefully evoked the transportive, decidedly analog thrill of reading.” —Variety

In this new cross between Hitchcock, arthouse cinema, and DaVinci Code style thriller, a respected academic becomes beguiled by the allegedly true story of the "Chronovisor," an occult device said to reproduce visuals from any point in history on a TV screen. Her obsession with the mysterious machine drags her from her Upper East Side apartment through the depths of New York City’s hidden libraries, to the edge of a breakthrough. Director Jane Schoenbrun ("I Saw the TV Glow," "Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma") is a big fan of this one, and we're excited to bring it to Humboldt - THREE NIGHTS ONLY: Friday 11/6 at 7:15, Saturday 11/14 at 8:15, and Tuesday 11/24 at 6:00 - don't miss it!
