Coast Guard Open House

Coast Guard Station

Coast Guard Station Humboldt Bay welcomes the public and the media to its annual open house. All are invited to visit the facility and meet the station crew. Guests will be able to tour the historic building and climb aboard rescue boats. Boat crews will be available to discuss their missions, general boating safety and discuss how the Coast Guard renders assistance to mariners operating off California’s northern coast.

Members of partner agencies will also be available for guests to meet including members of the Coast Guard Auxiliary Crescent City Flotilla, local police and fire departments and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. “The Coast Guard has been located on the North Spit since the 1800’s providing assistance to the maritime community,” said Master Chief Petty Officer Ronald McCready, Station Humboldt Bay’s officer in charge. “The open house provides the public an excellent opportunity to come out and see the historic building and meet the men and women of today’s Coast Guard.”
