Humboldt Coastal Nature Center

Friends of the Dunes is excited to offer the Coastal Connections Summer Camp at the Humboldt Coastal Nature Center. This week long day camp program for ages 8 to 11 will connect participants to the diverse coastal habitats of the Samoa Peninsula. The Nature Center is located in Manila between the Humboldt Bay and Pacific Ocean, an ideal location for exploring a diverse coastal habitats by foot. Participants will visit beaches, dunes, wetlands, and coastal forests while learning about nature and history through inquiry based learning and creative expression. While exploring coastal ecosystems, campers will record observations and reflect on their experiences through art and creative writing in nature journals. In addition to science, art, and cultural history, this program will emphasize coastal stewardship, eco-friendly lifestyles, and active living. Extended Care is available before and after the program for an additional fee. Please contact Friends of the Dunes to sign-up.
