Dance Around the World with Nikola Clay
The Fortuna Branch of the Humboldt County Library is excited to host instructor Nikola Clay for a free dance workshop entitled “Dance Around the World.” Friday, June 26th from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Nikola will be encouraging children ages five and older to sing, laugh, and dance.
Children and their families are invited to experience a variety of cultures through the universal language of music and dance as Nikola teaches several easy folk dances, the favorites of children near and far. Dances will include El Juego Chirimbolo from Ecuador, La Mariposa “Butterfly Dance” from Bolivia, Los Machetes from Mexico, Niwawa “Clay Doll” from China, and the Penguin Dance from Antarctica.
This event is sponsored by The Mel & Grace McLean Foundation, Fortuna Sunrise Rotary, Friends of the Trinidad Library, Friends of the Garberville Library, and Friends of the Fortuna Library.
