DEAN JOHNSON is a celebrated Seattle-based alt-country and indie-folk singer-songwriter whose late-in-life breakout made him one of the most compelling indie music stories of the mid-2020s. Long considered a legendary “hidden gem” of the Pacific Northwest music scene, Johnson did not release his debut solo album until his 50th birthday. He is widely recognized for his distinctively high, rustic tenor voice—drawing frequent comparisons to Roy Orbison and the Everly Brothers—and a sharp, melancholic songwriting style that blends classic country warmth with dark comedy and modern emotional candor.
