Dusty Green Bones Band, One Grass Two Grass

Humboldt Brews

Dusty Green Bones Band:
Formed in January 2014, Dusty Green Bones Band is a five piece electric newgrass group based out of California’s Bay Area. Looking to form a “jamgrass” style band, this rowdy bunch of musicians met in the heart of San Francisco. The group consists of: Toby Sanchez-Mahan (acoustic guitar, vocals), Dustin Brown (acoustic and electric mandolin, vocals), Isaac Cantor (banjo), Scotty Brown (electric bass, kala u-bass, vocals), and Jon Ryan (drums). By taking musical styles from a wide variety of genres and mixing them with the high energy of hard-driving bluegrass, they have created a purely organic sound. Their music aims to expand the authentic complexity of traditional bluegrass by layering ancient tones with improvisation and rock n’ roll. These ambitious musicians live to ramble across the country playing hand-crafted shows while creating an undeniably magical experience for their fans. Their music is progressive with an indisputable raw aesthetic as the band dares to push the musical envelope, tenaciously defining their own individual style. DGBB continues to build a following by maintaining a consistent tour schedule. Come enjoy a nightcap and boogie down with the Dusty Green Bones Band at any one of their upcoming shows.

One Grass Two Grass:
One Grass Two Grass delivers high energy, hard driving, fun-loving, old-timey, new-timey, good-timey, rockin’ California string band music. One Grass Two Grass forges its own style of folk meets old-time, meets rock, meets bluegrass. Cushioned by a bed of old mountain tunes and a dash of stomping rock and roll, they bring strings to the times.

Getting their start in 2012 in the San Francisco Bay Area, there have been many highlights in One Grass Two Grass’ upward trajectory. 1G2G kicked off an action packed, festival-rich, 2017 summer season with an exciting headlining show at one of San Francisco’s fanciest venues, The Great American Music Hall. And in addition to the High Sierra Music Festival, summer brought yet another rockin’ band competition at the Rockygrass Music Festival in Lyons, CO.

2016 wasn’t so bad, either. One Grass Two Grass capped it off with an appearance at The Yonder Mountain String Band’s Northwest String Summit. They also competed in The Telluride Bluegrass Festival’s Band Competition and had a knockout performance on the main stage of The Hoes Down Harvest Festival at Full Belly Farm in Guinda, CA.

The group has accompanied many great artists on stage, such as Larry Keel of Keller and the Keels (& Natural Bridges); Leftover Salmon’s Vince Herman; Poor Man’s Whiskey; James Nash; and John Cragie. One Grass Two Grass has opened for contemporary string bands such as Fruition, Hot Buttered Rum, The Lil’ Smokies, Danny Barnes, Grant Farm, Front Country, Mipso, Whiskey Shivers, The Last Revel, and Reverend Peyton and the Big Damn Band.

Their second album is under way as of late summer 2017 and being produced by Hot Buttered Rum’s Nat Keefe. Jacob Groopman of Front Country helped produce their 2014 debut album, which catapulted the group full speed into an exciting and eventful journey. With 2017 taking the band across the state of California, and to Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado, the excitement is not slowing down.

One Grass Two Grass is sure to have you swaying with your lover, stomping with your brother, smiling with your mother, and having just a plain old good time with one another
