Earl Thomas
With fourteen albums released to date, Earl Thomas is an artist with staying power. And with the release of his latest full length album, CROW, he proves, once again that he is an artist with undeniable talent and lasting appeal. A brand new album, new management, a grueling promotional tour that takes him throughout Europe and United Kingdom, features in several top music magazines including Twoj Blues Magazine (PL), MOJO (UK), Blues Matters (UK), Living Blues and Blues Revue (US) he is set to run. Blues Blast calls him “a blues and soul superstar.” His touring band includes former Curtis Salgado heavyweights, keyboardist Dave Fleschner and guitarist Vyasa Dodson, along with Bill Athens on bass, and drummer Tom Goicoechea who provide the perfect backdrop for his unique style. A determined and enthusiastic artist, he is an avid international touring performer who has amassed a devoted worldwide fan base since his debut in 1992 at Switzerland’s famed Montreux Jazz Festival. His appeal, due in part to his engaging live shows and a personal connection to his listeners through his music, crosses all boarders. On his new release, produced by Fleschner and Dodson, Thomas sings with an emotional resonance that, combined with Dodson’s catchy melodic songs, Fleschner’s musical direction, and his own soulfully expressive vocals, captures listeners straight from the heart and with his charismatic rootsy vocal style he is equally gospel, blues, rock, soul. Blues Matters calls his “a distinct and edgy sound—Americana with sparkling and memorable melodies.” A two time Grammy Award nominee, he is also the recipient of four San Diego Music Award and Best Of Blues magazine calls him “the most important blues artist of his generation.” The new release, featuring a notable appearance by harmonica wizard Jason Ricci is a return to his blues-driven roots with a fresh contemporary vibe. KPOO-FM in San Francisco recently described it as, “smooth and soulful in all the right place, equal parts old-school soul singer and contemporary bluesman; Earl Thomas at his best!”
