Earth Day Hoedown
Celebrate Earth Day weekend by working with one of your favorite environmental organizations to clean up the earth on Saturday morning. Then put your hoe down, grab your partner and your corner and do-si-do down to the Humboldt Coastal Nature Center to enjoy an old-time Hoedown. There will be food and beverages for sale, kid’s activities, face-painting, a dutch raffle, music by Lyndsey Battle and Striped Pig String Band, with a barn dance called by Nigella Mahal.
The event is sponsored jointly by Mad River Alliance, Northcoast Environmental Center, Friends of the Dunes, Environmental Protection Information Center, Humboldt Baykeeper, Friends of the Eel River, Trees Foundation, Surfrider Foundation and Dell’ Arte International. The event is free for Earth Day volunteers or $5-$10 sliding scale for the general public.
