Walk through a variety of habitat types of our spectacular coastal dunes to meet a wide selection of edible and medicinal plants. The workshop will include plant identification, harvesting techniques, and usage for food, medicine, and fun. Harvesting as we go, we will spend the second half of our class making several preparations and edible treats from our finds. Please bring clippers or kitchen shears, a pint-sized mason jar, and a mug. Wear sturdy shoes and dress to spend time outside rain or shine. This class is appropriate for people with both beginning and advanced levels of botanical knowledge. Workshop Instructor: Allison Poklemba is a botanist, herbalist, and educator who has been learning from plants for over 15 years. She teaches Annual Botany for Herbalists, Sea Vegetable, and Herbal Adventure classes with the Dandelion Herbal Center and spent several years teaching HSU’s Herbalism course at CCAT.
