ERFSA Fall Lectures Begin

Humboldt ERFSA, the Emeritus and Retired Faculty and Staff Association is pleased to announce its first Fall luncheon lecture this week at The Baywood Golf and Country Club at 3600 Buttermilk Lane, in Arcata. (Please note that we have changed the date and venue from previous semesters). The Tuesday, September 12 presentation will honor Cal Poly Humboldt Rowing Coach Matt Weise, Assistant Coaches Patrick Hyland and Ashley Donnell, and Crew Student-athletes. They will discuss “Journey to the National Rowing Championship and Invitation to the White House’s Inaugural College Athlete Day”. Matt Weise came to Humboldt State from Michigan State University where he was the Head Women’s Rowing Coach from 2004 to 2019. Pat Hyland is the varsity assistant coach. Ashley Donnell works with Cal Poly Humboldt’s first-year rowers.

There will no longer be a Zoom component to our luncheons. All in-person guests should be fully COVID-19 vaccinated and may wear masks while attending. Meet and greets begin at 11:30 a.m. Various foods and beverages can now be ordered through the bar; please arrive early to order lunch or place your order in advance by calling the Baywood bar after 10 a.m. at 707-822-3686, Ext 3. Please pay your bill as you pick up your order. The main presentation will commence at noon.

Please note: everyone is invited to this and future presentations; you need not be retired, a member of Humboldt ERFSA, or purchase lunch. The Humboldt ERFSA lecture series will continue on Tuesday, October 10 when Cal Poly Humboldt Associate Vice President Michael Fisher from Facilities Management and College of Natural Resources and Sciences Dean Eric Riggs will speak on the “Status of Cal Poly Humboldt’s Physical Planning and Projects.”
