Essential Cinema: Cry-Baby

Eureka Theater

Join us on Saturday, April 25th at the historic Eureka Theater for a very special edition of our Essential Cinema series. We are turning back the clock to 1954 (or at least to 1990) to celebrate the legendary John Waters turning 80 years old. Just a few days after his birthday on April 22nd, we are honoring the man with a big screen presentation of his gleefully twisted musical masterpiece, Cry-Baby.
This is your chance to see Johnny Depp as the uber-cool Wade “Cry-Baby” Walker. He pouts, he rocks, and he cries his way into the heart of a good girl and into cinematic history. Featuring a cast that only Waters could assemble (including Iggy Pop, Ricki Lake, Traci Lords, and the spirit of the late, great Divine), this film is a rockabilly riot. It lovingly lampoons 1950s teen angst, square society, and the Baltimore of Waters’ youth. It is naughty, it is nice, and it demands to be seen on the biggest screen possible.
Part of our Essential Cinema series. Because some films are not just movies. They are experiences that demand a crowd, a dark theater, and a big screen in Humboldt County.

Doors Open at 7:00 PM
Film Starts at 7:30 PM
