Eureka Chinatown Monument Celebration

Old Town Eureka

Join Humboldt Asians & Pacific Islanders in Solidarity (HAPI) on Sunday, October 11, from 1–4 p.m. for the grand opening of the Eureka Chinatown Monument at First and E streets in Old Town Eureka. After more than five years of community effort, this free celebration will honor Eureka’s Chinese community. Enjoy music, dance, Chinese lion dancing, Asian food, a kids’ zone, poetry, and remarks from community leaders. Meet local historians and explore the history commemorated by the monument. The event also celebrates the launch of the children’s book, Yung Stands Strong: A Story of Expulsion and Resilience.
