Eureka Friday Night Market
On Friday evenings in summer the City of Eureka closes the streets to traffic and transforms several city blocks of Old Town into THE place to meet up with friends and neighbors- in a friendly, festive atmosphere. Friday Night Market has it all; a North Coast Growers Association farmers market with the finest in local fruits, vegetables and flowers, a diverse array of local food and merchandise vendors, quality live music mixed with family friendly-activities, and a bar booth featuring the best of Humboldt’s beers, wines, and ciders! It’s a community gathering, AND a party, no question about it, and we like it that way.
From the vendors and musicians we book, to the communal dining tables in the street, every detail is centered around bringing people together, both residents and out-of-towners, into Old Town and Eureka, in a welcoming way.
The ‘Market’ opens at 5 pm. With so many working until then, Old Town becomes the place for like-minded folks to meet and mingle; grab a delicious snack; (fresh oysters anyone?); have an adult beverage; peruse and purchase fresh produce and local crafts; get your face painted; marvel at kinetic sculptures; wonder at fire-dancers, or grab a sweetheart and dance some yourself . Every Friday you can expect an ever-changing mix of art and entertainment while the essential elements of the ‘Market’ remain consistent, i.e. key vendors and FUN!
Because we end at 8, all kinds of possibilities open up for extending a summer evening well into a summer’s night-at an array of local establishments in Old Town and Downtown, all right there- just down the street or around a corner.
So come, join us; partake in Friday Night Market; the absolutely best way for Humboldt to kick-off it’s shoes and kick-off the weekend!
