Eureka Fringe Festival: Thursday

Old Town Eureka

-THURSDAY EUREKA FRINGE FESTIVAL PERFORMANCES-

Clownfish

5-6 PM

“Clownfish” is an hour of stories of trying to find your place in the world and observations about how we treat this weird divide between “man” and “woman”. It’s honest as all get-out, glam as Hell, as weird as America, and also happens to rhyme.

A Trip to Cowtown

5 - 5:45 PM

“A Trip to Cowtown” is a collage performance of song, story, and object plays, created by Tayloranne Finch and Daniel Nickerson. Cowtown itself is a storybook of alternative Americana, a patchwork of new and old visions of small town ideals played out by an unusual cast of characters and living sculptures. In this chapter, the audience will follow Peggy Pilgrim, and her truck full of tiny dancers, as she passes through Cowtown on her journey to find a better way to be. Musical saw, accordion, banjo, narration, singing, puppets, fabric collage, clowning, musical chairs and more are used by the performers to tell Peggy’s story. This lighthearted fable is fit for families and people of all ages.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Sia and to Dirtti Confetti. We are an intergenerational performing arts troupe, incorporating American Sign Language into our dance. Dance, like ASL, is a language that captures what words cannot. Our show invites you to experience the ups and downs of life. To surrender to the moment and the worlds it opens up for us, for it is when we explore our cage courageously that we discover our freedom and celebration. Come along on a journey with your inner child and the truth and beauty bombs of your subconscious. Who knows, you may find yourself on Venus!

Spilled Popcorn, Sticky Cotton Candy

6:30-7:30 PM

In the theatrical world of the circus, there are possibilities of joy, transcendence and meaning. But there is also the possibility for the complete opposite. In this contradiction lies the magic of the circus. He juggles, he dances, he portrays multiple characters….

Calder Bullwinkle writes and performs like a man on a mission while encouraging insight, sharing philosophical musings, all the while creating humorous and often uncomfortable theatrical moments. He guides us on a 45 minute journey and to a destination we ultimately all share.

The Revolutionists

8 - 10 PM

Four beautiful, badass women lose their heads in this irreverent, woman-powered comedy set during the French Revolution’s Reign of Terror. This grand and dream-tweaked comedy is about violence and legacy, art and activism, feminism and terrorism, compatriots and chosen sisters, and how we actually go about changing the world. It’s a true story. Or total fiction. Or a play about a play. Or a raucous resurrection…that ends in a song and a scaffold.
