Eureka Symphony
Arkley Center For The Performing Arts
The Eureka Symphony presents its season finale concert, Friday, May 17, and Saturday, May 18 at the Arkley Center for Performing Arts. Conductor Carol Jacobson and the Eureka Symphony welcome internationally renowned marimba soloist Ivana Bilic as she performs two works for marimba and orchestra: Pablo de Sarasate’s beloved “Carmen Fantasy” and Emmanuel Séjourné’s “Concerto for Marimba and Strings,” a dazzling new concerto for the instrument. Don’t miss this chance to hear a world-class virtuoso with your hometown Eureka Symphony. The evening also includes two symphonic gems of Scandinavian origin: Sibelius’ ode to his native land, “Finlandia” and the less known “Symphony Singulaire” by Swedish composer Franz Berwald. Arrive early, an hour before each concert, to hear Marmiba One founder, Ron Samuels, discuss innovations of the marimba. The concert is generously sponsored by Marimba One. Tickets available at EurekaSymphony.com or by calling the Arkley Center Box Office at (707) 442-1956.
