Family Workshop: Let’s talk about race and racism
We teach young children to notice differences among colors, shapes, letters, and numbers. They notice differences among people, too, and differences in the way people treat one another, and wonder what it all means. Parents and caregivers who would like a little help guiding family conversations about race and racism are invited to attend this workshop with their young children. Shared reading, conversation, and playful activities will support exploration in a welcoming environment. The discussion is facilitated by Diana Escobedo and Wendy Kerr. Sponsored by First 5 Humboldt and Dept. of Health and Human Services.
