Father’s Day Low Tide Walk

Trinidad

To get to Baker Beach, take Scenic Drive south from Trinidad, past the Casino and just south of Baker Ranch Road. Limited parking is available along the road. Carpooling is encouraged. Participants must register in advance by calling 444-1397. Biologist and Educator Dr. John DeMartini will be on hand to assist with identification and share some of the life stories of these fascinating inhabitants of our rocky shores. Biologists from the Bureau of Land Management will be assisting with the walk and sharing information about the Coastal National Monuments made up of the rocks and islands just off shore. The beautiful, but moderately steep trail to the beach is managed by the Trinidad Coastal Land Trust. Walking sticks may be helpful for those who need assistance navigating sloping trails. Wear water boots (or shoes that can get wet). Look for the Friends of the Dunes Sign at the top of the trail. We’ll be done in time for you to head into Trinidad and enjoy the annual Fish Festival. The event is free, but donations are always welcomed. Sponsored by Friends of the Dunes, Bureau of Land Management, Arcata Field Office and Trinidad Coastal Land Trust.
