Black Liberation Month

Cal Poly Humboldt

Cal Poly Humboldt’s theme for the month is #KuumbaForLiberation. Kuumba means creativity in Swahili and is one the nguzu saba’s seven principles which guide the work being done in Umoja Center. Black Liberation Month is a chance to highlight Black culture and contributions to the world. The events are collaborative with partners across campus, student assistants take lead in hosting spaces where learning and community meet. The purpose is to demonstrate the multiple way Black communities can frame liberation and how everyone can support and participate. There will be movie screenings, guest speakers, a dance workshop, dialogues, and so much more!
