Film Commissioner Speaks to Mensa

Samoa Cook House

Cassandra Hesseltine, Humboldt-Del Norte film commissioner, will make a presentation on filming efforts and opportunities by filmmakers at a Northcoast Mensa public forum at noon Saturday (April 27) at the Samoa Cookhouse. As the Film Commissioner, she is committed to supporting out-of-town and local filmmakers while working to stimulate the local economy through production. She believes with a capable, experienced crew base, accommodating vendors, and film-friendly locations, the region can shine as “the place to film.” Cassandra Hesseltine became film commissioner in fall of 2010. She, also, is the president of the Board of Directors of Film Liaisons in California Statewide (FLICS) and a member of Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI). Prior to taking on the role of Film Commissioner, Cassandra worked in film and theater. She is a graduate of Humboldt State University. Lunch is no host. The event is part of an ongoing series of topical forums by Northcoast Mensa. For information, contact Jake Williams at 707-834-4668.
