Leave Her to Heaven (1945)

Humboldt County Library

A writer marries a young socialite, but her obsessive love for him threatens to be the undoing of both them and everyone else around them. A Technicolor melodrama infused with film noir pathology, Leon Shamroy won the Oscar for his striking color photography of landscapes, deluxe homes and Gene Tierney’s red lipstick.

Starring Gene Tierney, Cornel Wilde, Jeanne Crain and Vincent Price. Directed by John M. Stahl. Based on the novel by Ben Ames Williams.

A brief introduction will precede the movie, and a discussion will follow. Seating is limited, and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
