Film Screening: An Army of Women
You are invited to a FREE community film screening of An Army of Women, which tells the true story of “a group of women in Austin, Texas [who] join forces and help build a movement of plaintiffs legally challenging the system that allowed their rapists to walk free.” This event, which will be at Cal Poly Humboldt’s Library Fishbowl on Friday, May 30th at 4:30, is a collaboration between Humboldt County DHHS Public Health’s Family Violence Prevention Program, Humboldt Domestic Violence Services, the North Coast Rape Crisis Team, and Cal Poly Humboldt’s Sexual Assault Prevention Committee. Following the screening, there will be a brief discussion panel featuring representatives from local violence prevention organizations to provide information on local resources and how community members can support their work, which has been rapidly changing with current funding challenges and federal instability. Light refreshments will be provided.
