First Day Hike at Humboldt Redwoods State Park

California State Parks wants you to kick off 2025 in a healthy way and enjoy the fresh air with the annual First Day Hikes, on Wednesday, January 1.

Join us for the 2pm Gould Grove Loop Trail at Humboldt Redwoods State Park.

First Day Hikes is a national-led effort that encourages individuals and families to experience, with a seasoned guide, the beautiful natural and cultural resources found in the outdoors and in doing so may inspire them to take advantage of these treasures throughout the year and an individual’s lifetime.

Other First Day Hikes in the North Coast Redwoods District:

11 am Simpson Reed Grove Trail at Jedediah Smith Redwoods.

2pm Redwood Access Trail at Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park.

2pm Sumeg Village Tour at Sue-meg State Park. Meet at the Visitor Center.

2pm Nature Trail at Richardson Grove State Park

Plan ahead and prepare! Make sure to dress in layers, bring plenty of snacks, water, and appropriate hiking shoes.
