FOAM Lecture: From Frogs and Bacteria to DNA: A Musical Science Journey

Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center

Catalina Cuellar-Gempeler from the Cal Poly Humboldt Biological Sciences department will discuss mysteries of the biological world that are alive with music, taking you from the songs of frogs to the dynamic code embedded in the DNA. With original music by Marine Snow and featuring other Biological Sciences faculty, you’ll learn about environmental issues, obscure marine organisms, the microorganisms living inside you, carnivorous plants, epigenetics, and more. No issue is too strange to marvel about our living world; recognize that we still have a lot to learn and sing along to catchy tunes!
