FOAM Lecture on Salmon Restoration
Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center
Join Rachael Aguirre, fish habitat assistant at the California Conservation Corps (CCC), for a free 1-hour lecture that will explore the history and current practices of the CCC’s Salmon Restoration Program. This 1-hour talk is part of the First Wednesday Lecture Series sponsored by Friends of the Arcata Marsh (FOAM). The event will be held at the Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center starting at 7 p.m., followed by a Q&A session. This presentation will be both in-person and simulcast via Zoom at https://humboldtstate.zoom.us/j/88248246788?pwd=AuQSlOmC4Zwkq4hzWctlzTySkjKyjY.1#success.
Rachael, who is also a FOAM Board member, will briefly introduce the CCC program, relay the history of North Coast salmon populations, and end with an overview of the CCC’s past and present fisheries restoration work and its impact. Join FOAM for an exciting look into the restoration happening behind the scenes in our local creeks, how the CCC plans and implements its projects, and how it is teaching important skills and habits to the next generation of young adults in natural resources spaces.
