Both set in 1890’s Ukraine, “The Sneeze” is a 10 minute one act that depicts a simple man who loves theater and wants to impress his boss, but an innocent anatomical accident sends him spiraling into despair. “Fools” is the story of Leon Tolchinsky who recently arrives in the small Ukrainian village of Kulyenchikov hoping to make his debut as a schoolmaster by educating the doctor’s daughter, Sophia. Soon, however, he discovers that the town has been cursed (or is it pursed? Hearsed?) with ignorance and he is the only one capable of breaking the spell - a task made more difficult by his growing attraction towards Sophia …
