FREE Conservation Lecture: Cheetahs in Kenya
The Sequoia Park Zoo FREE Conservation Lecture Series is back and will kicks off with a lecture focusing on understanding range-wide cheetah occupancy and gene flow in Kenya by Mary Wykstra of Action for Cheetahs in Kenya. Action for Cheetahs in Kenya works with local people to survey and map cheetah populations using Kenyan rangers, village engagement, and even scat-detection dogs to determine how cheetah populations use the fragmented habitat in this country. Mary Wykstra will share the stories and results of this work that help create, effective conservation programs to areas where they are most needed. Conservation crafts will be sold prior to the lecture. The lecture will be held at the Zoo’s Flamingo Room.
