Four Shillings Short play Traditional music from the Celtic Lands, Medieval &
Renaissance Europe, India and the Americas on a fantastic collection of world
instruments: Hammered & Mountain dulcimer, Mandolins, Renaissance
Woodwinds, North Indian Sitar, Recorders & Tinwhistles, Banjo, Guitar,
Charango, Psaltery, percussion, vocals & even a Krumhorn.

ABOUT SAMHAIN
The Celtic bonfire festival of Samhain, also known as
Féile na Marbh (the Feast of the Dead), marks the end
of harvest, the Celtic New Year and the beginning of
Winter. It is traditionally celebrated at the end of
October and beginning of November. Samhain is IrishGaelic for ‘the Summer’s end’. A Samhain Concert
brings together music, poetry, folklore and stories
linking our modern day harvest celebrations and
customs with this ancient bonfire festival.
