Freshwater Farms Reserve Tour: Longfin Smelt
Join California Department of Fish and Wildlife Biologist James Ray and Northcoast Regional Land Trust Project Manager Kerry McNamee on Saturday, November 12th from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm on an interactive walk to learn more about longfin smelt, a historically important fish found in Humboldt Bay. The tour will also focus on studies conducted in Freshwater Slough which have produced useful information about this mysterious fish’s life cycle and population. Please park in the parking lot past the farm stand (on right hand side if going south). Walk will start from parking lot. Walk is approximately one mile. Please wear appropriate footwear - trail may be muddy in some areas. Rain or shine - severe weather cancels. No RSVP necessary. FREE. Families are encouraged.
