Fried Chicken Dinner & Auction

The community of Orick invites everyone to a fundraiser on Sunday, October 2 at 1:00 p.m. at the Orick Community Hall to raise money needed for medical expenses to help Kathea Vorhees with thyroid cancer treatment. Edie Baker (from Edebee’s Snack Shack) will be cooking a Fried Chicken dinner and there will be a brown bag raffle and silent auction. Dinner price is $10 per person at the door. The “Redwood Ramblers’ will be playing live music. Kathea is a loving mother who has worked as an EMT with City Ambulance, Cal Fire and Redwood National Park.  All of her medical appointments are in Sacramento.  The numerous trips to Sacramento have already been a financial strain and she has many more trips to make.
