Fruit Tree Grafting

Campus Center for Appropriate Technology

Humboldlt Permaculture Guild December 2018 Grafting, Pruning and Scion Selection with Marlon Gil of the HPG and Rainshine Permaculture Join us on Tuesday Dec 4th 5:30 at the HSU Campus Center for Appropriate Technology for this introductory look at grafting fruit trees, winter pruning and scion selection in preparation for our 6th annual Fruit Tree Scion Exchange, which will be held on Saturday Feb 9th 2019 at the Bayside Community Hall. As fall ascends and winter approaches our chores in the garden shift from those of harvesting and fall plantings to mulching and thinking of winter pruning, scion selection and grafting. In this presentation we will demonstrate simple grafting techniques, show you the basics of making new fruit trees, and talk about how winter pruning affects scion selection. Free. For more info contact Marlon at rainshinepermaculture@gmail.com About the presenter: Marlon Gil is a carpenter, woodworker and permaculture enthusiast who lives in Freshwater with his wife and two kids.
