Fun with Food

D Street Neighborhood Center

Fun with Food is a new class series through Arcata Recreation. We are cookin’ up more than just a cooking class for kids though. Through a variety of themes, students learn how the culinary arts incorporates science and nature, exploration and even cultural connections. Each class provides a unique theme with new recipes to create and enjoy. Saturday, September 14: Back to School Snack Attack “Mom, I’m hungry.” Empower your kids to make their own delicious and nutritious snacks. Kids learn kitchen skills and safety to help them maneuver their way around a recipe. Have fun making homemade granola bars and other snacky-bits! Youth, 7-12 years, may attend with an adult or independently. All classes are held at the D Street Neighborhood Center’s Kitchen, 1301 D Street in Arcata. Classes are on Saturdays from 3-4:30 p.m. FEES: $18 per child, per class / $20 non-resident per child, per class – includes food and recipes. More Fun with Food classes to come throughout the fall. Visit our website for upcoming details. Pre-registration is required. Call the Arcata Recreation Office (707) 822-7091 or enroll online, www.cityofarcata.org/rec.
