Gallery Anniversary Open House
Trinidad Art Gallery invites you to celebrate its 13th anniversary at a gala Open House. In 2012, a group of 20 local artists took over the 1901 residence of Trinidad artist Ned Simmons, turning it into a cooperative gallery to showcase Humboldt County artists. Fast forward 13 years, and the gallery is going strong, with 25 members exhibiting work in a wide range of techniques: painting, photography, ceramics, glass, fiber, wood, jewelry and sculpture. Every day, one of the artists opens the gallery to share this work with the public.
Many of the artists will be on site for the Open House, which will offer snacks and wine, and feature new work by painter Rachel Robinson, who says her new work embraces a spirit of love, curiosity, and growth: “I want my art, like my life, to be my own, to be more forgiving, not forced, to float along in the imperfections, and most importantly to be lead from a place of layers and layers of love.”
The gallery is located at 490 Trinity St, and is open daily from 10am - 5pm.
