Hailing from Chelmsford in Essex, but now located to Berlin, Germany, Gold Panda started writing beats and collaborating a few years ago, beginning a journey that ultimately saw him nominated in the BBC’s sound of 2010 list and won the Guardian newspaper’s prestigious First Album Award 2010 for his debut album Lucky Shiner. Since then Gold Panda has been touring throughout the world, as well as releasing a DJ Kicks compilation in November 2011, and a handful of additional singles.
Slow Magic has been “glo-fi” sounds out of live percussion an array of whomping beats and glittery synths that leave a dreamy residue. He’s known to perform in a handmade, rainbow-colored zebra mask only communicating with the audience only through hand singles and body language.
Opener Voices of Black are a production duo who invite listeners on a cosmic journey that bends conventional standards of sound. VOB are notorious for simple vocals layered over introspective lyrics, layered over infectious melodies, layered over strong rhythms gives audiences a complex style that is original and refreshing.
