Psychedelic Family Rock Band, Rolling into Arcata! On Friday August 24th, 8 pm, March and the Months will present Dream Green Kite - a psychedelic extravaganza for those who like to rock! This show will feature neo-beat philosopher songstress/hip-pop folk/rock artist March Adstrum on a mix of original songs as well as classic rock and folk tunes. In the band are NightStar (Rob Diggins), performance artist and well-known electric violinist, J-Dawg (Joli Einem), international baroque violinist now turned bass player, and Gabe LuBowe, songwriter and drummer for local bands Barnet and Secret Club. Also joining is special guest Augustus Clark, who will be painting anything his heart desires. This is a partay you won’t want to miss!! March and the Months naturally electrified into existence from within the musical framework of March’s family, who love her music; and as such, her professional musician parents could not help but to plug into the pulsing veins of March’s music. They added Gabe Lubowe on drums to the fam-mix, and created March and the Months! The band’s shows are themed and the listeners experience travels beyond the impact of sound; the audience is part of a visceral, spontaneous, art installation, enhanced by special lighting, and attendees who are encouraged to dress in “psychedelic regalia.” March is a neo-beat poet, songstress, and activist involved in awakening a counter-culture. Her songs are characterized into a genre called “hip-pop” due to their fast, witty phrases, and catchy melodies.
