Humboldt Hemp Fest Returns To Mateel On The Weekend Of November 8-10
The 23rd Annual Humboldt Hemp Fest, a full weekend celebration of music, comedy and hemp/ cannabis related events will return to the Mateel Community Center in Redway on the weekend of November 8th, 9th & 10th, 2013! We’ve created dedicated pages for each of these days so click on the links below (or above) for even more details!
Here’s a quick overview of All 3 Days:
Day 1 - Friday, Nov. 8, 2013 - Comedy Kick-Off Event
Kicking off the weekend’s festivities on Friday, November 8th, will be a special expanded edition of the monthly Mateel Comedy Cabaret with:
~ Comedian Ngaio Bealum
~ Comedian David Gborie
~ plus the lovely ladies of Bada Bling! Burlesque
~ and a Carnival Style Soul Food Session which features DJ Lucio K from Brazil and DJ Olly Boon of the U.K
~ with Les Shiaman on cello & special live guests playing a combination Afrobeat - Tropical Grooves - Bossa - Samba - Funk - Breaks and Bass
~ with live art, Capoeira and more.
Doors open at 7:30pm with comedy from 8 to 10 and DJs from 10 to 1am. Tickets are $15 and available at the door only.
Day 2 - Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013 - Hemp Fest Day!
The next day, on Saturday, November 9th, is the Humboldt Hemp Fest main event. It will feature a full schedule of musical entertainment including:
~ Stymie & The Pimp Jones Luv Orchestra
~ Jah Sun & Dubtonic Kru
~ Candelaria
~ The Underskore Orchestra
~ Midnght Sun Massive
~ Some Of The Truest
~ The Fabulous Resinaires
~ 7th Generation Rise

and a variety of vendors, speakers, and dancers, plus great food and refreshments. Doors open at 11am with entertainment from noon to midnight. There is a suggested donation of $20 requested at the door.
Day 3 - Sunday, Nov.10, 2013 - Interactive Forum Day
And rounding off the weekend on Sunday, November 10th will be the Hemp Fest Forum, presenting the topic Legalization & The Future Of The Canna-Business Industry- What This Means For You. The event is sponsored in part by The Emerald Cup and will feature a variety of cannabis and hemp experts including:

~ Matt Kumin (civil rights litigator and regulatory adviser)
~ Scott Bergin (cannabis edible manufacturer and policy advocate)
~ Anna Owen (industrial hemp advocate with Redwood Hemp)

~ Pebbles Trippet - Lifelong marijuana advocate and Co-founder of several organizations.
