Historic Boat Day
We’re dusting off and shine’n up small skiffs, scull boats and power boats that
have been in storage and not seen by the public for years. The museum’s harbor
cruise boat Madaket will be hauled up on one of the boat yards marine railways,
revealing her hull. You won’t want to miss the demonstration of how the marine
railway operates as the 1917 F/V Stephanie, the newest member of the maritime
museum, is taken out of the water and pulled up onto land. This starts at 3:30
We’ll have plentiful BBQ oysters and corned beef and cabbage from the BBQ Guy.
All included in the admission fee. In addition to the tasty food, there will be
a silent and a live auction, with many items available to the highest bidder and a
full cocktail bar. The air will be filled with musical notes as 2 live bands perform,
Kingfoot and Kindred Spirits. The Golden Rule, a project to restore one of the
first peace boats, has been ongoing at the Zerlang & Zerlang Marine Services
boat yard for a few years. The vessel is near completion and all of the volunteers
that have worked aboard her will be present to offer any answer to any question.
The Zerlang & Zerlang Marine Services boat yard, is located at 1493 Fay St.,
Fairhaven Ca. (South of Samoa and across from Eureka on the north spit).
