Honoring the Mother, Songs for the Earth Circle

Humboldt Unitarian Universalist Fellowship

Honoring the Mother – May Circle

As the fullness of spring ripens around us, we gather in circle to honor the Mother—the source of life, nourishment, and belonging.

This Songs for the Earth Circle is a communal ritual space rooted in sacred song, silence, and simple ceremony. Together, we enter into relationship with the living Earth through voice and presence, remembering that we are not separate from her, but expressions of her body.

In this circle, we turn toward the Mother in her many forms—Earth beneath our feet, the waters within and around us, the breath that moves through all beings, and the unseen intelligence that holds and sustains life.

Through song, we offer vibration as a form of prayer, gratitude, and reconnection. As we sing, we participate in the ancient reciprocal relationship between humans and the Earth—receiving from her, and offering back through our voices, our attention, and our love.

Together we will:

Sing simple, repetitive songs that invite connection and presence
Offer gratitude and blessings to the Earth as Mother
Listen deeply—to the land, to ourselves, and to one another
Remember our place within the greater web of life

No singing experience is needed. Your voice, exactly as it is, is welcome.

Come as you are.
Bring your breath, your presence, your listening heart.

Let us gather in song,
and remember ourselves as children of the Mother,
held within one living, breathing Earth.

We sing outside, weather permitting.
