HSRC Fortuna Memory Café
The Fortuna Memory Café is held on the first Friday of each month from 1:30-3 pm at the Heritage Café located in the Gene Lucas Community Center at 3000 Newburg Road.
HSRC’s Alzheimer’s Services and Activities Program offer monthly Memory Cafés in Eureka and Fortuna. Anyone experiencing memory loss due to any condition is welcome to participate. This includes memory loss due to dementia, Alzheimer’s, or other brain conditions that can cause challenges with thinking, memory or behavior.
At a Memory Café gathering, participants enjoy friendly conversation and social time. A facilitator will lead simple enjoyable activities such as music, games, art or storytelling. The goal of these activities is to help encourage engagement, cognitive stimulation and shared experiences in a supportive, judgement-free space.
There is no cost to attend, nor is any formal diagnosis, paperwork or referral required. All abilities are welcome and are encouraged to come as “as you are.” Light refreshments will be served.
