Humboldt Bay Symposium Conference 2016
This month the Humboldt Bay Initiative will convene the Humboldt Bay Symposium, held every two years to provide the public an opportunity to hear directly from experts about the latest developments on a variety of timely topics related to Humboldt Bay including: scientific research, ecological restoration, sustainable use of natural resources, recreational facilities, and maritime infrastructure and industry. If you are interested in anything Humboldt Bay, this is the Symposium for you!
This year’s conference, “Changing Tides, Changing Times,” will be held on Friday and Saturday October 21st and 22nd at the Wharfinger Building in Eureka and will focus on large-scale environmental changes including global warming, sea level rise, and ocean acidification. Experts including scientists and managers will share current understanding of how these changes will affect our region as well as efforts to prepare for and adapt to them.
After the presentations on Friday, there will be a poster session with refreshments held in the Bayview Room of the Wharfinger Building from 5:30–7:30pm.
